Tina developed a love for severe weather early in life with a special interest in tornadoes, growing up in central North Carolina. She even won first place in her middle school science fair by building a tornado machine. With early aspirations of becoming a meteorologist, she later abandoned that in favor of learning the art of photography when she moved to Daytona Beach, Florida and enrolled in the Southeast Center for Photographic Technologies. There she acquired the skills she would need to later become a professional photographer while still enjoying observing beautiful lightning storms and the occasional hurricane.
After completing her schooling, Tina moved to Arizona where she met Kevin in 2004. Kevin grew up in Southern California where his father, an avid environmentalist and meteorologist in the US Navy, greatly influenced his love of weather. With Kevin having a background in photography as well and that shared love of weather, Tina and Kevin quickly teamed up and started two different businesses, one devoted to nature photography and the other devoted to wedding photography. Both businesses became very successful, taking them around the world, but of all the places they have been they found themselves most happy chasing severe storms and tornadoes throughout the Great Plains in the spring and the monsoon throughout Arizona in the summer, something they do every year. They love to share their knowledge of photography and timelapsing and passion for storm chasing with others who want to learn and share the same interests!
